Note from the Founder...

Hello and Welcome to our website, I feel incredibly blessed that another year is upon us and I'm still here! Thank God that I am disease free and blessed with the resources to help others . My wish is that we all become more aware and conscious of the world we live in and take our life experiences, good and bad, to help others in need! It does not take much to call or visit loved ones and tell them how much you appreciate their presence in your life. When I first began my journey in helping to rebuild the self-esteem of women living with AIDS, I was met with many challenges. There were people who wanted to compare my foundation to other more established organizations; there were many naysers and those who sat on the sidelines with nothing to offer but criticism. We are not a medical facility but we are here to offer our services in a any way that we can;mainly by spreading good cheer. We've partnered with other organizations to raise money, facilitate help groups etc. For every naysayer, there have been at least 200 people who applaud our efforts...so it's been worth it :-) We have also extended our volunteer efforts to New York as well as parts of the Dominican Republic. I am honored to work with some of the most compassionate people in the world whose vision mirrors mine...of seeing the day when there is a cure. Their passion and dedication to the Tia's Foundation Family far exceeds my expectations. We invite YOU to experience what we have to offer. Whether you are infected or have been affected, YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! I would like to share some of the Relationship Builders that I live by and hopefully you will do the same:

  • DEVOTION: Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love.
  • GENEROSITY: Share with friends who have needs.
  • A COMMITMENT TO UNITY AND PEACE: Be of the same mind. Live in harmony with one another.
  • HUMILITY: Don't be arrogant, proud, or conceited.
  • A NON-CRITICAL ATTITUDE: Don't judge one another.
  • ACCEPTANCE: Accept one another. (Roman 15:7)
  • GOODNESS: Do good to others. (Gal. 6:10)
  • HONESTY: Speak truthfully to others. (Eph. 4:25)
  • ENCOURAGEMENT: Attempt to build up and encourage others. (Eph. 4:32, 5:19 Thess. 5:11)
  • KINDNESS: Be kind and compassionate to one another.
  • FORGIVENESS: Forgive each other.
  • UNSELFISHNESS: Consider others better than yourself.
  • THOUGHTFULNESS: Look out for the interest of others.
  • PATIENCE: Bear with each other.
  • LOVE: Love one another deeply, from the heart.
  • RESPECT: Show proper respect to everyone.
  • HOSPITALITY: Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
  • SERVANTHOOD: Serve one another in love.

I never thought that I would lose friends and loved ones to AIDS...never, especially at such a young age! Many times while I was going through the healing process, I felt that my pain would never cease but I'm managing. It seems that I am reminded just how much they meant to me when I experience great joys and disappointments in my life that I reflect on them not being here. During those times, I just want to pick up the phone and say, Guess what happened to me but I can not. The one thing that lets me know that I've progressed is my attitude toward my pain. Instead of getting depressed or wanting to shut myself off from the world, I do things to help others in need which is the greatest feeling in the world ....the feeling that you have made a difference in someone else's life! With each passing year, God has revealed more and more to me about my purpose in this life. I wonder what he'll reveal to me this year!!!!! I don't know about you, but I've got WORK to do (smile)

One Love,
Coletta Renee
